Crown Resorts has documented revised operating conditions for its Perth property, after the Western Australian Government published its post-lockdown transition mandates.
This follows the imposition of a snap three day lockdown across the Perth metropolitan area and Peel from 12.01am Saturday 24 April 2021, based on health advice.
Media reports suggest that the measure was taken after a returned traveller spent five days in the community, before returning to Melbourne and subsequently testing positive for COVID-19.
Following the end of the three day lockdown period, the aforementioned regions will now see interim restrictions come into effect from the morning of Tuesday 27 April 2021 until the morning of Saturday 1 May 2021.
Crown Resorts says that its gaming activities and food and beverage, theatre, banqueting and conference facilities, other than for the provision of takeaway meals or meal delivery services, will remain closed at the Crown Perth entertainment complex.
The operator, which says it will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities in Western Australia and will respond to measures taken by the Western Australian Government in relation to COVID-19, will offer hotel accommodation and ancillary services in a reduced capacity.
During the post lockdown period, the WA government says that measures continuing to be in place include the wearing of masks in public, while at work and on public transport unless exemptions apply e.g. vigorous outdoor exercise.
A 20-person limit for private indoor and outdoor gatherings will be in place, alongside a 20-patron capacity limit and 4sqm rule for cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs for seated food and drink service only; beauty salons, hairdressers and barbers; public venues such as recreation centres, outdoor playgrounds, museums and swimming pools; places of worship, and entertainment venues.
Visits to aged and disability care facilities and hospitals are not permitted; weddings and funerals can proceed with up to 100 guests; and professional and community sports, including training, is permitted but without spectators.
Universities are open for online learning only; fitness clubs, gyms, and nightclubs, alongside casinos, remain closed; and regional travel restrictions will be removed, but restrictions on travel to remote Aboriginal communities remain in place.
